Add brown sugar to the warmed mug.
Pour freshly brewed strong coffee into the mug, leaving some space at the top.
Stir the coffee and brown sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add Irish whiskey to the mug and give it another gentle stir.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it reaches a thick, yet pourable consistency.
Gently pour the whipped cream over the back of a spoon onto the surface of the coffee.
Garnish the whipped cream with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or cocoa powder.
