Driverless cars are something many people are waiting for, but if there is one thing on the forefront of everyone’s minds, it’s the freedom of being able to enjoy a drink without getting pulled over. The Mercedes-Benz F 015 driverless concept car would bring a dual control system, which allows passengers the freedom to drive themselves, or sit back and enjoy a martini as they are driven down the coast, taking in the views of the Pacific (or whichever body of water they happen to find themselves next to).
While companies like Biadu, Google and Uber are already planning on reinventing how people commute, the one thing to take particular note is how this will revolutionize many industries, such as nightlife and of course alcohol. Dr. Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG, parent company of Mercedes-Benz told Forbes, “the car is growing beyond its role as a mere means of transport and will ultimately become a mobile living space.” If this is the direction in which driverless cars are heading, then the future should be very exciting for cosmopolitan adventurers and nightlife chasers.
