History
Angry Orchard cider makers have been making (and enjoying) cider since 1995. Cider has a long, rich history. Hard cider was the go-to drink in the Middle Ages because it was safer than water. It was enjoyed by the Pilgrims in the New World and almost eradicated by Prohibition in the 1920s. And now? Well it has come back strong!. With this in mind they continued to hone their skills and find the best, highest quality ingredients out there. A business is never an easy thing to create but when the product is good and the passion is real, it’s only a matter of time. If that’s not dedication, i’m not sure what is.
Mission
The genius behind the brew has watched their business grow and through hardships and trials discovered the best way to share their passion with the world. From the brewers themselves: “Like many of the orchards in the area, our orchard has a long history. It has been a farm since the 1700s and the first apple trees were planted here around 100 years ago. The Crist Family took ownership of this orchard in 1963 and as leaders in the apple growing industry, grew both culinary and cider apples. We are committed to bringing traditional cider varieties and lost heirloom varieties back to the United States. As such, certain areas of the orchard are designated for new cider apple plantings and varietal research, in collaboration with local institutions and growers.” Wow. With commitment like this, It’s no wonder Angry Orchard saw such success since their founding. This is precisely why they are such a good choice no matter what kind of beer you’re looking for.
