Fireball is a cinnamon-flavored whisky-based liqueur, bottled at 33% ABV, which is lower than a standard whiskey and worth knowing before you build anything with it. Here is what it mixes with.
Two things removed from the earlier version of this page. It compared the product to a branded candy and named a shot after a breakfast cereal, and it suggested a coffee version to start your morning with. Neither belongs on an alcohol page.
What works with it
Cinnamon is the whole proposition, so the mixers that work are the ones that already sit near cinnamon in a kitchen.
- Apple. Cider, hard cider, or plain apple juice. The most reliable pairing on the list.
- Cola. Standard cola, or a cherry cola.
- Hot drinks. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate.
- Cream liqueurs and eggnog. Seasonal, and heavy.
- Stout. A shot dropped into a glass of stout is a common bar order.

Angry Balls
1 shot Fireball, topped with hard cider. Works with plain apple cider too.
Hotter Toddy
Brew tea, add 1 shot Fireball, honey and a squeeze of lemon. A variation on the standard hot toddy.
Fireball and cola
1 shot over ice, topped with cola.
Hot chocolate
1 shot stirred into hot chocolate.
Fireball eggnog
1 shot Fireball and a half shot of amaretto into eggnog, grate nutmeg over the top.
A note on the ABV
At 33%, Fireball is lower proof than most whiskey, and it is sweet, which together make it easy to pour heavier than you would pour a spirit. If you are keeping track of standard drinks, a 1.5 oz pour of Fireball is a little under one, and the mixed versions above are one drink each unless you double the pour.
