Summer is upon us, which means it’s time for the BYOB barbecue invites to start rolling in. No need to stress about what to bring, we’ve made it effortless with our BYOB Guide for Summer Barbecues. From beer to infused cocktails, there’s something for everyone this summer with Saucey!
Beer
Bringing beer to a BYOB backyard-barbecue isn’t just good alliteration, it’s also a great idea. Beer is portable, single-serve and easy to pair with almost any menu, making it an obvious choice for any barbecue. Of course, not just any brew will do, so we’ve got a few suggestions for your next BYOB barbecue.
Stella Artois
Stella Artois pairs well with sweet and savory dishes alike, making it the ideal date to any barbecue. You can’t always predict the menu, but you always know exactly what you’re getting when you crack open a Stella Artois– a delicious and agreeable beer for any occasion.
Pabst Blue Ribbon
No BYOB barbecue is complete without a classic beer like Pabst Blue Ribbon. Guests will appreciate an uncomplicated, light and refreshing option that pairs well with any entree off the grill, and you’ll appreciate the price tag. Skip the six-pack and go straight for the 12; your host will thank you.
Stone IPA
When it comes to IPAs you pretty much can’t go wrong with with Stone IPA. Crisp and extra hoppy, this brew is a refreshing choice for any hot Summer day, and even better when paired with barbecue.
Wine
If slinging six-packs isn’t really your style, a bottle of wine (or two) is always an acceptable substitute. We suggest something light and bubbly. Remember, barbecues are usually a day-drinking event, so stamina is key. You don’t want Aunt Carol passing out before the appetizers are served, after all.
So, stick with light, bubbly wines like a Rosé. We suggest Listel Grain De Gris Rosé. With layers of peach, apricot and strawberries, it’s like an alcoholic fruit salad you can drink. Yes please.
Hard Cider
Hard cider is another excellent alternative (or addition) to beer for your summer barbecue. Fresh, clean, and bubbly; Hard Cider is the perfect companion to cut through anything your grill-master throws your way. Here are some of our favorite Summer Ciders, perfect for any barbecue!
Crisp, refreshing and bubbly, Angry Orchard’s Crisp Apple Cider is the perfect counterpart to a sweet, sticky barbecue .
Not too sweet, not too dry; exactly what you need for a BYOB barbecue. Stella Cidre is made with hand-picked apples and always gluten-free, making it a great choice for any get together.
Batch Cocktails
Chances are good your host will be in grill mode most of the day; make their lives a little easier by bringing a batch of cocktails. They’ll appreciate the chance to cool down with an ice-cold cocktail, without having to worry about refilling the ice or chopping up garnishes.
Here’s a couple of our favorite batch cocktails to celebrate summer!
