In case you missed it, Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15th through October 15th. And in case you missed it, the proper way to celebrate is with a bottle of Buchanan’s. Obvio. (But Casamigos or Johnnie Walker will do the trick, too.)

Piña Crest
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Buchanan’s Deluxe 12 Year
.5 oz. Demerara
1 oz. pineapple juice
.75 oz. lemon juice
.5 oz. simple syrup
Angostura aromatic bitters
How to make a Piña Crest:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake, shake, shake. Pour cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice and add 3 drops of angostura aromatic bitters on top. Lightly stir and garnish with a pineapple wedge if you fancy.
Casamigos Margarita
Ingredients:
2 oz. Casamigos Reposado or Blanco Tequila
1 oz. fresh lime juice
.25 oz. fresh orange juice
.5 oz. agave nectar
.5 oz. orange liqueur
Lime garnish
How to make a Casamigos Margarita:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake con mucho vigor. Strain into rocks glass with ice and garnish with a lime.
Whisky Ginger Highball
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Johnnie Walker Black Label
6 oz. ginger ale
Squeeze of lime juice
How to make a Whisky Ginger Highball:
Fill a highball glass with ice and add the whisky. Top it off with ginger ale and a squeeze of juice. Give it a lil’ stir and garnish with another lime wedge if you please.
Scotch Screwdriver
Ingredients:
1 oz. Johnnie Walker Red Label
.5 oz. Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka
1 oz. orange juice
Orange slice garnish
How to make a Scotch Screwdriver:
Combine Johnnie Walker Red Label, Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka, and orange juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake things up a bit. Pour into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange slice.
Peppered Pineapple
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Buchanan’s Deluxe 12 Year
.75 oz. lemon juice
.75 oz. simple syrup
3-4 basil leaves (muddled)
Splash of pineapple juice
How to make a Peppered Pineapple:
First things first: Muddle your basil. Then, combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice and shake. Double strain and pour into a coup. Sprinkle cracked black pepper on top and garnish with cracked black pepper and a basil sprig.
Buchanita
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Buchanan’s Deluxe 12 Year
5 oz. Fresh Pineapple Juice
Fresh orange and/or pineapple slice for garnish
How to make a Buchanita:
Combine whisky and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake it like you mean it. Strain into a highball glass—or hollowed-out pineapple if you’re feeling extra—over fresh ice.
Garnish with an orange slice and/or pineapple slice.
Jalapeño Rock
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Buchanan’s Deluxe 12 Year
.75 oz red ruby grapefruit juice
.5 oz lime juice
.5 oz agave nectar
2-3 oz. club soda
Salt mix for glass rim (salt, smoked paprika, chili)
How to make a Jalapeño Rock:
Rim glass with lemon, then rim glass with salt mixture. Mix all ingredients except club soda in a shaker over ice. Shake, shake, shake, shake. Pour over ice in a highball glass with fresh ice and top with 2-3 oz. of club soda.
