Remember: if this beer can survive a 6 month journey at sea, you can survive a 5 minute conversation with any family member.
As the holidays draw near we begin look back and think of everything for which we are thankful. We come together at least once a year to remember how important it is to have each other. In reality, these gatherings can be awkward and so we find ourselves giving thanks for the hoppiest of beer.
In hopes of smoother sailing, we’ve rounded up 5 IPAs and suggested with whom you should share them.
1. Lagunitas IPA | SHARE WITH: Grandpa
This one is a classic, just like grandpa. Sure, you can hike some pleated khakis up past your belly button and wear all white New Balance to bond with him, but trust us, this is more your style.

2. Oskar Blue’s Pinner Throwback | SHARE WITH: Aunt Trish
Aunt Trish lived in Colorado for 10 years so she’ll love this beer. Share one with her while she shows you her meditation app and tells you how important it is to drink Alkaline water.

3. Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter | SHARE WITH: Uncle Wayne
These guys started brewing in 1980, the same year Uncle Wayne started at CalTech. Get him to drink a few more and he’ll tell you once again how it was his idea to make the Hollywood sign read “CalTech.” What a prankster.

4. Goose Island Goose| IPA SHARE WITH: Your Sister
Each year your sister makes everyone watch Top Gun after dinner. You’re usually asleep before she starts crying, so maybe this is the aptly named beer to comfort her through the inevitable…

5. Golden Road Point the Way IPA| SHARE WITH: Cousin Trey
Trey kicks it in Diego, and he’s so far out, brah. He wants to take Lincoln to 90, to The 405, to The 101, to The 134 towards Burbank and get off at San Fernando Road to visit the brewery, but you’ve got Saucey. Just have it delivered!
