1. COCKTAIL ROBOTS

Cocktail robots first made major headlines last summer when The Tipsy Robot, opened its doors in Las Vegas. They can’t listen to your woes (just yet) but they can sure make a damn good cocktail. This technology however is not new, as it has been used in select Royal Caribbean cruise ships. How does it work? Guests select or create their drinks on tablets, then pay by swiping their credit cards on the device.

2. JAPANESE GIN: THE NEXT BIG THING

2017 was an exciting year as Japanese beats Scotland at its own game to become whiskey’s world leader. Japanese whiskey imported approximately 25 million liters last year, compared to 1.5 million five years ago (1,300% growth) and we don’t expect this trend to change. In fact, our unquenchable thirst for Japanese liquors will drive Gin made by Nikka and Suntory to explode worldwide. Gin is easy to produce and there is an infinite number of botanical combinations giving us plenty of variety and even more delicious cocktail concoctions.

3. DRINK FOR YOUR HEALTH

Because there’s a huge demand for healthier cocktails, mixologists are opting for kombucha, cold pressed juices, ingredients with no added sugars, B-complex vitamins and magnesium. Craft mocktails will also be a huge hit for those who wish to opt out of alcohol entirely.
Infusing spirits with botanicals and use of Gin will be on the rise as well. A little gin and lemon thyme can boost immunity and soothe digestion. For those who enjoy margaritas, your bartender may substitute tequila with mezcal as a healthier option, sage for its antioxidant properties, chipotle as it is known to reduce blood pressure, and even a cold pressed juice to help aid in digestion.  Now there’s an even better way to enjoy our favorite cocktails.
