Created in the 1920s at the Ritz Hotel bar in Paris, the Sidecar has become the single most iconic Cognac cocktail of the world and it’s delightfully simple to make at home.
Ingredients
2 ounces of D’USSE V.S.O.P or D’USSE XO
Ice
3/4 ounce of Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)
1/2 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
Strawberry for garnish
Instructions
- Fill the glass and a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add the cognac, lemon juice, simple syrup, and orange liqueur and shake vigorously.
- Strain the mixture into the glass, and garnish with a strawberry.
Notes
Go easy on the citrus depending on if you use the V.S.O.P. or XO. Garnishes aren’t necessary – but if you have to, be different and use a strawberry. It will be a hit!
