Heaven Hill history
The story of a heavenly bourbon
This is another one of those Kentucky-based bourbon brands that I’ve never tried before. Now that I’ve been learning about these, there just seems to be so many of them! Anyways, the Heaven Hill history starts just after the prohibition period, and continues to this very day. So, let’s get to it!
Heaven Hill history
Not too long after the prohibition era came to an end the Heaven Hill distillery was founded in Kentucky (Bardstown, to be specific.) The founding family, the Shapiras, had a goal to make premium American whiskey and bourbon. Their original distiller was Joseph Beam, the cousin of the infamous Jim Beam.
Founding the company during when it was founded was risky; it was the height of the Great Depression. But it persevered, and today is the sixth largest supplier of spirits in the United States, according to their website. It’s also the second largest holder of aging bourbon in the world; their stock is over 1,300,000 barrels! That’s a LOT of bourbon to you and me (probably just a fun afternoon to some people though, hahah!)
In 1996, the Heaven Hill history took a turn for the worse when the distillery itself caught fire. 90,000 barrels of bourbon were destroyed, along with much of the property itself. In 1999, the Bernheim distillery in Louisville was purchased from British-based liquor giant Diageo.
Heaven Hill history took a turn in 2014, when the name was changed to Heaven Hill brands. Today, it’s also the only family-owned large distillery that’s headquartered in the Kentucky area. They also are the hosts of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, an annual event. And that’s the Heaven Hill history!

Once your order is placed, then we can have one ready for you. You will, of course, need to let us at Saucey know what the date and time of your event is. We also must have a head count for the number of guests you intend to have.
Your bartender(s) will arrive thirty minutes before your planned event in order to set things up. Saucey can provide up to six bartenders at any given time. They can make multiple different recipes for your occasion. And if you want, you can teach the Heaven Hill History at your party!

You’ll like this part: No! At Saucey we don’t do the whole delivery fee thing. We prefer to keep pricing as simplified and easy as possible. We like it better that way, and so do our customers.
