Don Julio history
Yet another tequila with a wonderful, rich backstory
Don Julio. You probably know it as that pale-blue tequila you see on the shelves at the liquor store (or grocery store if you live in USA.) Just the name itself, ‘Don Julio,’ hints at a rich, wonderful history. Personally, I couldn’t wait to get right into this one and find out as much as I could. So read on, and I’ll relay my findings on the Don Julio history to you!
The Don Julio history
The website itself claims that he created the world’s first ‘luxury’ brand of tequila. Now since the word ‘luxury’ has about as much meaning as the word ‘expert’ these days, we’ll dig a bit deeper than that. The man himself, whose full name was Don Julio González-Frausto Estrada, will henceforth be referred to simply as ‘Don Julio.’ He began the art of distilling tequila at age 17, way back in 1942. He made his own distillery very early on, and from there it was about 40 years or so of just perfecting his product. However, the first brand he produced was called Tres Magueyes, and shared only with friends.
It wasn’t until he turned 60 that his sons immortalized his name by creating a new line of tequila, called Don Julio. This was the world’s first ‘luxury tequila,’ since before it’s coming, tequila was considered just a ‘cheap farmer’s drink.’
After many more years, British-based liquor giant Diageo took full control of the company in 2014.

Unfortunately, you can only use this service if you’re 21 or over. Saucey is very careful about making sure we operate within the parameters of the law. ID checks are necessary for every single delivery. Your delivery person will use a scanner to check your driver’s license, passport, or state-issued ID card. Your delivery will be given to you once your age has been verified via identification scan. Once that’s done, now you’re ready to drink your whiskey. And now that you know the Don Julio history, you’ll appreciate it more!

If you happen to need a bartender as well as someone to deliver your order, then read on! If you go on over to our bartender’s page, you’ll find that we can easily help out with that. Once your order is placed, then we can have one ready for you. You will, of course, need to let us at Saucey know what the date and time of your event is. We also must have a head count for the number of guests you intend to have.
Your bartender(s) will arrive thirty minutes before your planned event in order to set things up. Saucey can provide up to six bartenders at any given time. They can make multiple different recipes for your occasion. And if you want, you can teach the Don Julio history at your party!
Is there a delivery fee?
