There are two types of people in this world: Those who have no problem deciding what they would like to eat for dinner, and those who waste 2+ hours scrolling through food delivery apps before ultimately deciding to make a sad PB&J (minus the J, actually, because they haven’t been to the store in a minute).
Regardless of which category you fall into, we have a hot tip: Deciding what cocktail you’re in the mood for can be *immensely* useful in helping you decide what to eat. Because complementary flavors and whatnot, you know? Some thought starters for you:
Good Old Fashioned BBQ
Bulleit Old Fashioned + BBQ
Ingredients:
1.25 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
2 tsp. simple syrup
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Orange peel
Directions:
Pour bourbon, simple syrup, and bitters in a glass over ice. Give it a good stir, zest a little of the orange peel over the glass, and finish with a orange peel twist.
Taco ‘Bout a Perfect Pair
Don Julio Jalapeño Margarita + tacos
Ingredients:
2 oz. Don Julio Blanco
1 oz. fresh lime juice
.5 oz. simple syrup
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, shake, shake. Strain into a glass with fresh ice and garnish with a slice of jalapeño.
Manhattan Goes Italian
Crown Royal Manhattan + pasta
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Crown Royal Canadian Whisky
.5 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Maraschino cherries
Orange peel garnish
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a glass. Add ice and give it a stir until chilled. Strain it into a cocktail glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange peel twist.
