It’s that time again—time to celebrate the woman who sacrificed an untold number of things in order to help you grow up into a real human, and who almost certainly dislodged a marble/M&M/Lego from your nose at some point.
You could go the obvious route and get her some flowers or a monogrammed towel or whatever. Or you could give her what she really wants this Mother’s Day: the ability to get a lil’ tipsy on a Sunday.

A Mule for Madre
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Don Julio Blanco
.5 oz. lime juice
Ginger beer
Lime wedge (optional)
Jalapenos (optional)
Directions:
Combine tequila and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until icy cold. Strain into a glass with fresh ice and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a lime wedge and a slice or two of jalapeno if you want a little extra kick.
The Tipsy Pitcher
Ingredients:
1.5 cups Pimm’s
1.5 cups ginger ale OR lemon-lime soda
Cucumber, cut into wedges
Orange, cut crosswise into slices
Lemon, cut crosswise into slice
Large bunch of mint
Directions:
Combine Pimm’s, orange slices, lemon slices, and mint in a large pitcher. Chill for about 10 minutes and then stir in ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. Fill pint glasses halfway with ice and add two long cucumber wedges to each glass. Add additional mint leaves to each glass, then fill with mixture from the pitcher. Garnish with extra fruit.

A Mom Collins
Ingredients:
2 oz. Tanqueray London Dry Gin
.75 oz. lemon juice
.5 oz. simple syrup
Club soda
Directions:
Fill a Collins glass with ice—set it in the freezer for a few minutes if you’re really dedicated. Combine gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into the chilled Collins glass. Top off with club soda and garnish with a lemon wedge.
The Matriarch Martini
Ingredients:
2 oz. Baileys
.25 oz. Smirnoff Vodka
.25 oz. espresso
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, shake, shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
Mom & Johnnie Are Mint To Be
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Johnnie Walker Black Label
1.5 tsp. fine granulated sugar
4-5 mint springs, leaves only
Club soda
Directions:
Place mint leaves and simple syrup in the bottom of a julep cup or old-fashioned glass. Muddle mint leaves with simple syrup. Add bourbon and fill the glass with ice (preferably crushed). Top with club soda and garnish with a fresh mint sprig.
The Boozy Bouquet
Ingredients:
2 oz. Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Blossom
Club soda
Mint leaves
Cucumber slices (optional)
Directions:
Fill a highball glass with ice. Combine vodka and soda water and give it a good stir. Garnish with mint leaves and cucumber slices.
